The programme aimed to strengthen leadership capacities, social animation skills, communication abilities, and responsible use of social media for community engagement and social transformation.
The training was inaugurated by Fr. Sunny Kunnampally SJ, Rector and Managing Director of Loyola Institutions, Trivandrum, who emphasized the importance of youth collectives, grassroots leadership, and active democratic participation. He encouraged participants to emerge as value-based leaders capable of initiating positive change within their communities.

Through participatory discussions, storytelling, group activities, and presentations, participants reflected on leadership qualities, change-makers they admire, and the role of youth in addressing social challenges. Sessions highlighted the importance of leadership among marginalized communities and encouraged participants to recognize their potential as agents of change. Team-building and problem-solving activities further strengthened collaboration and collective leadership.
The second and third days focused on Social Animation, Communication, and Social Media Skills. Participants explored the role of social animators in community mobilization and learned practical strategies for communication, public speaking, problem-solving, and conflict management through experiential sessions facilitated by Mr. Jobi A.P. Interactive activities, group exercises, and reflections helped participants build confidence in expressing ideas and facilitating dialogue. Sessions on social media introduced participants to responsible digital engagement, fact-checking, and using online platforms for advocacy, raising awareness, and documenting social issues.
The programme concluded with action planning, evaluation, and reflection sessions. Participants shared that the training improved their confidence, communication skills, and leadership abilities. Many appreciated the practical and participatory nature of the sessions and expressed their commitment to applying the learning within their youth groups and communities. Overall, the training successfully equipped participants with the knowledge, skills, and motivation required to promote social inclusion, democratic participation, and grassroots social transformation.
