Labour Migration Unit
The goal of the unit is to accompany the distress migrant workers, especially the Dalits, the Adivasis and other marginalized groups in South India to become aware of and access political, economic, labour and social rights and entitlements.
The interventions include:
- Visit to the place where migrants gather;
- Organize consultations to generate awareness and spread the importance of the migration issue;
- Conduct workshops and training to impart skills and capacities;
- Be in live contact with individuals and organizations working with migrants in South India;
- Participate in celebrations and provide pastoral and spiritual care;
- Provide assistance to select most deserving persons, and build linkages by establishing contacts with sources and destinations.
