The basic module-6 on “Participation and Accountability” training program was held at MPSSS, Kadapa from 27th – 29th October 2023 as part of the program of Social Inclusion and Democracy Unit of Indian Social Institute Bengaluru in collaboration with Backward Community Development Society (BCDS), Kadapa, The Multipurpose Social Service Society, Kadapa and Chaitanya Mahila Mandali (CMM), Vempalli, Kadapa District, Andhra Pradesh. There were 18 male and 17 female participants from Kadapa zone in Andhra Pradesh were learnt about the Panchayat Raj Institution. They learned why it’s important to take part in meetings like Gram Sabha and Ward Sabha to make decisions. This training helped them understand how powerful it is when the community works together.

Mrs. Naga Jyothi from BCDS NGO really liked the training. Now she knows how to get Panchayat help for our village, and the system is fair for officers to help our community. Prasad from CMM NGO thinks the Panchayat training is super. He learned about local government with the PRI Act and wants to help in Panchayat areas. Prasad is all set to do good. M. Jayapaul is now good at solving Panchayat problems. He wants to tell everyone in the village how to fix things and why it’s important to speak up. Sivani wants to make her village better. She’ll team up with friends, join Self-Help Groups and NGOs, and talk a lot. Sivani is ready to make good things happen. Thanks to the Indian Social Institute,Bengaluru.

Resource persons made a big difference in the training. Because of them, participants like Mrs. Naga Jyothi and Prasad now know how to help their village through the Panchayat system.

Adv Karuna Rao as a facilitator of this training program, I have noticed some really good changes, the training program has made a big difference. Participants now know more about their local government and are improving their villages. They visited the Sachivalayam office, talked to officers, and using the PRI Act, they’re making positive changes in their communities.
