On 5th August 2025, the Labour Migration Department of the Indian Social Institute, Bengaluru, received a distress call from Assam concerning the tragic case of Mr. Thomas Samboya. A migrant worker from Assam, Mr. Samboya had set out with his friend to Gujarat in search of work. With the dedicated efforts of MLW Mr. Sunil Raj, necessary arrangements were made for the repatriation of Mr. Samboya’s body to his native village in Assam, where his family could give him a decent and dignified burial.
