40 young minds from Amalapuram attended the capacity building training organised by the Indian Social Institute, Bengaluru from 13-15 May, 2025. The sessions on courageous leaders such as Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Savitribai Phule, Birsa Munda, and Periyar instilled a sense of purpose and motivation among the youth. After the training the youth expressed that it has helped them grow in confidence, knowledge, and determination.

Bharathi, a youth coordinator from CCST NGO, shared how Dr. Ambedkar’s life inspired her to speak out against caste-based injustice in her village. “Even small actions can bring big changes when people come together,” she said.

Kumar, a college student, reflected on the continued struggles of marginalised groups like Dalits, Adivasis, transgenders, women, and fisherfolk. He noted that despite the barriers, many youth are now becoming aware of their rights and are determined to create inclusive communities through unity and awareness.

Kanchana, from PSO NGO, emphasized the structural injustices faced by Dalits and Adivasis in accessing land, education, and employment. She called for collective responsibility to ensure these communities receive their rightful share of opportunities and government support.

Srinivasarao, another participant, admitted that before the training, he had limited understanding of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. After engaging in the sessions, he recognized its significance in protecting the dignity and rights of marginalised communities. He said, “Now I have the confidence to speak about this law and support others in my village.”

Sessions were led by a team of committed resource persons, including Dr. Vijay Kumar, Dr. P. Venkateswara Rao, Dr. B. Ram Prasad, Adv. Nageswara Rao, and Adv. K. Chandra. They guided participants to examine their local contexts using the SWOT analysis, identify root causes of exclusion, and explore solutions rooted in justice, compassion, and collective leadership.
