Some 28 migrant children and a few youths gathered at ISI B for a day’s out from their L B Shastri Nagar, Bangalore on February 25, 2023. They were so enthused for a variety performance and exhibited their histrionic talents. Frs. Selvin Raj, Shiju, and Balaraj were present to encourage and enthuse them from 9.45 am onwards. They we continued the programme to dance and sing with the children. They were very joyful and had a lots of fun. At noon, we split the children into two groups and organized games for them. One such game was to fill the bottles with water scooped in their hands. The game made them aware of the importance of ‘team work’ to be successful in life.
They visited Ashirvad the Jesuit Social Centre in Bangalore in the afternoon and warmly welcomed by Fr. Arul Antony and Ms. Deekshitha with a broad smile and refreshment. Our children also had a chance to see the ‘Children science Exhibition’ displayed by the children from various tuition centers monitored by Ashirvad. Both our children and the tuition children of Ashirvad had stage performance with pomp and gaiety.
On our way back we stopped the bus near Vidhana Soudha for a short hangout. The children were so excited to see Vidhana Soudha and the State High Court building. They posed themselves for photographs. It was heartwarming to see the children express their gratitude to us especially to the organizers, Fr. Selvin Raj and myself for making all the to make the day worthwhile. Our sincere thanks to Fr. Rohan D Almeida SJ for providing the school bus for our children. In fact, We do thank and appreciate the parents of the children who placed their trust in ISI by sending their children for a day with us.
