The continuation phase 6 We had this awesome three-day training on ‘Participation and Accountability, had a profound impact on 35 young trainers from 29th,30th November and 1st December 2023 in PARA, Ravulapalem, Andhra Pradesh. This training was held at PARA, Ravulaplem, Andhra Pradesh as part of the program of Social Inclusion and Democracy Unit of Indian Social Institute Bengaluru in collaboration with Peoples Action for Rural Awakening (PARA), Ravulapalem, and Women Association for Gender Equality (WAGE) Ravulapalem.

The training was amazing, like getting a superpower to make things better! We learned how to speak up for our village and make sure leaders listen to us. Now, we feel like local superheroes, all set to do good things for our community. With the special knowledge we gained, we’re ready to bring positive vibes to our village.

Ravi said his village is like a team, and at Panchayat meetings, he can help decide things using decentralization and the PRI Act. Now, he speaks up for better facilities, making his village better. Sita learned about SHGs and youth groups, powerful clubs for positive village changes. She leads these groups to help the village grow. Arjun found his career path, seeing life like a game, excited to pick a job he loves, focusing on goals for his village too. Priya learned to solve problems in the Panchayat, speaking out if something is unfair, like having a game referee. During a visit to the Gram Panchayat office, they met leaders who explained their roles. It was like a backstage pass, giving them insight into how decisions are made for their area. This visit helped them understand how local government works, realizing the importance of elections in shaping their village’s future.

We want to say a big thank you to Mr. Ambedkar, Mr. Isaiah, and Smt. Sesharathnam for their awesome talk. They made hard stuff easy to get and turned it into practical stories. The way they taught was cool, and we learned a lot with joy. Thanks a ton for making the session so good.

Advocate Karuna Rao, the State facilitator, is happy with the training’s success. Participants explored their village, met leaders, and gained practical skills. He’s proud they can now contribute positively to their community.
