On 30th January 2025, the Labour Migration Unit of ISI-B organized a significant meeting to discuss the future course of action for migration-related work. The meeting was called by Fr. Francis Basco, SDB, National Director of DB4M, and was attended by key stakeholders working in the field of migration.

Dr. Selvaraj Arulnathan, Director of ISI-B, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the history of ISI’s migration work and its current progress. He also provided insights into the way forward, emphasizing the need for strategic planning and collaboration.

Fr. Francis Basco led the discussions, stressing the importance of strengthening networks with all stakeholders and working together to support migrants effectively. He emphasized the need for advocacy and policy-making strategies to address migrants’ challenges.

The meeting concluded with a discussion on enhancing advocacy efforts and strengthening networks with all stakeholders, including NGOs, CSOs, like-minded groups, and other organizations actively involved in migration work. The participants expressed hope that the meeting would lead to stronger collaboration and tangible benefits for migrants in both source and destination states. This meeting marks an important step in reinforcing coordinated efforts for migrant welfare, ensuring their rights and well-being through collective action and policy advocacy.
