Migrant Distress Intervention: Support for a Family in Grief
On 13th July 2025, the Labour Migration Department of the Indian Social Institute, Bengaluru, received a distress call from Assam reporting a tragic incident. Mr. Maryanus Minz, a migrant from Assam who was returning home from Tamil Nadu by train, accidentally fell and sustained serious injuries. He was admitted to the Srikakulam District Hospital in Andhra Pradesh but, sadly, he passed away despite medical care.
In this difficult moment, ISI Bengaluru, in collaboration with MAIN Hyderabad Hub, extended timely support. With the help of Fr. Prakash Bihar MAIN Hub Director and the coordination of Hub Director Fr. Pratap, dignified arrangements were made for the burial of Mr. Minz in Visakhapatnam
