Migrant in Distress Reunited with Family

On 16th July 2025, the Labour Migration Department of the Indian Social Institute, Bengaluru, received a distress call from Chhattisgarh regarding Mr. Naveen Tigga, a migrant worker who had travelled to Chennai, Tamil Nadu, in search of work. Unfortunately, due to health issues, he was unable to secure employment and decided to return home. However, during his train journey, he lost his mental balance, got down at an unknown station, and went missing. In this vulnerable state, his mobile phone, money, and belongings were stolen.

For three days, Mr. Tigga remained untraceable, causing great fear and anxiety to his family. Through the timely intervention and coordination of Fr. Prakash, Bihar MAIN Hub Director, and Fr. Pratap, Andhra Pradesh MAIN Hub Director, he was located and given necessary support. With further assistance from the Madhya Pradesh Hub Director and close coordination with his family, Mr. Tigga was safely reunited with his loved ones on 22nd July 2025.
