My name is Yankamma. I stay with my family in a Kolbal in Raichur district, Karnataka. My father works as a daily wage labourer and my mother is a homemaker. The desire to enroll in the medical field and practice nursing had always been my dream. But I was doubtful about the financial means. Deep down, I had a hope that my hard work in my studies would pay off. I shared my plans with my teachers at the school. I could see my future shaping up when I cleared the Class 12 examination with 85 per cent marks from Loyola School Manvi, Raichur. With the support of my parents and my teachers, I applied for the BSc nursing course and got a seat at Vijayanagara Institute of Medical Science (VIMS) Bellari, Karnataka. My name was recommended by my school for educational help from Ashirvad, Bangalore. I am grateful for their understanding and assistance. My life is taking a new and positive direction.
My name is Supriya. I scored 65 per cent in my Class 12 and could not get a seat in nursing. I was upset. My teachers encouraged me to study. Ashirvad helped me financially to enroll in a basic course on Computer, Tally and Spoken English. I believe in hard work. I am confident in proving my worth.
I am Vinay and I stay in Avalahalli, Bangalore. I have been asked to teach underprivileged children. I expressed my desire to do Engineering to FIDES social outreach. With financial support received from Ashirvad, I have joined MVJ College of Engineering. This support is a blessing for me and my family. I will continue to instill hope among the children and will motivate them through my own life story that hard work and persistence will help us to realise our dreams.
