A special three-day event called ‘Women and Mother Earth’ that had a powerful impact on 35 enthusiastic young individuals in Telangana zone. They took part in insightful discussions and activities that helped them understand the relationship between women and the environment. This experience was like a wake-up call, making them passionate about taking care of the Earth and making sure everyone is treated fairly, regardless of gender. Now, these young people are like champions for both women’s empowerment and protecting the environment. This event played a big role in bringing about positive change and is paving the way for a better, more equal future in Telangana zone.
Indira said, at the beginning of this training, I never fully grasped the depth of gender inequality in our community. Learning about the struggles of women leaders, understanding the importance of gender equity, and realizing our legal rights have truly opened my eyes. Now I see a brighter future where women can be empowered, where our voices matter, and where our rights are respected.
Ramesh the field coordinator from CAFED NGO said, this training on sustainable living and the environment has transformed how I view our daily habits. I used to take resources for granted, but now, I understand the impact of our actions on Mother Earth. Learning about the local economy’s connection to sustainability has inspired me to seek green job opportunities and contribute to a cleaner, healthier community.
Alekhya said, the stories of environmental movements in India have deeply touched my heart. Witnessing the dedication of those who fought to protect our forests and natural resources fills me with hope. I now feel empowered to take small steps, to mobilize my community, and to become a voice for environmental conservation. This training has kindled a fire within me, and I’m ready to be a change maker for our Mother Earth.
Naresh said, envisioning a better future for our community was a powerful exercise. It made me realize that change starts with us. I’m thrilled to take part in the projects that align with our alternative vision. Together, we can build a more prosperous, united, and vibrant community.

The training was held at CAFED, Venkatapuram, Telangana from 09 – 11 August 2023 as part of Social Inclusion and Democracy Unit of Indian Social Institute Bengaluru in collaboration with Social Education and Welfare Activities Association (SEWAA) Sarapaka, Mother Voluntary Organization, Bhadrachalam, Adivasi Samaja Chaitanya Sangam (ASCS) Kunavaaram and Caussanel Foundation for Educational and Development (CAFED) Venkatapuram.
