Young Migrant Girl Safely Reunited with Family
On 10th July 2025, the Labour Migration Unit of ISI Bengaluru received a request for urgent support regarding a young girl from Assam who had been misled with false promises of work and decent wages. Instead, she faced exploitation and distress after arriving in Karnataka.
Through timely intervention and coordination, the ISI team guided the family and local contacts to ensure the girl’s immediate safety. With the combined efforts of concerned relatives, friends, and ISI staff, the girl was successfully rescued on 16 July. The team also ensured constant communication with her parents to provide assurance and necessary arrangements for her well-being.
After receiving care and support, she was sent back to Assam, where she safely reached home on 2 August and was joyfully reunited with her family.
The family and well-wishers expressed their gratitude to ISI Bengaluru and MAIN for their timely help and accompaniment. This intervention highlights the importance of community vigilance, safe migration practices, and collective action in protecting vulnerable individuals from exploitation.
