A three-day capacity building program on ‘Understanding and Reducing Vulnerabilities’ enabled 32 young participants to develop a profound understanding of vulnerabilities and equipped them with effective strategies to mitigate risks. As a result, they have experienced personal growth, enhanced resilience, and are now better prepared to navigate life’s challenges.
Sarada, a cluster mobilizer from Backward Classes Development Society (BCDS), Kadapa, highlighted the importance of understanding and reducing vulnerabilities during the training program. She expressed her strong desire to address these vulnerabilities within her village and local administrative units, aiming to create a safer and more secure environment. Her passion and dedication reflect her commitment to making a positive impact and fostering resilience in her villages.
Another vibrant participant, Swarnalatha, an area coordinator from another NGO in Kadapa asserted that she is committed to spreading awareness and engaging the youth for fostering a well-informed and proactive community. Rajesh, a college student emphasized the importance of utilizing legal provisions to address issues and create a framework for change. Rajesh also recognized the significance of government interface, intending to engage with authorities to drive positive transformation. He acknowledged the strength of the community and plans to harness its potential to bring about sustainable development.
- Prasad Babu, a regular participant has acquired practical strategies to address these vulnerabilities. He aims to implement preventive measures and promote resilience with knowledge and skills to empower and advocate for change and drive positive transformation.
As a facilitator, Adv Karuna Rao, feels a sense of fulfilment witnessing the positive impact among the youth. The comprehensive curriculum has transformed the lives of 32 youth (21 male and 11 female), equipping them with the knowledge and strategies to mitigate risks and enhance their resilience. Their gratitude towards the Indian Social Institute Bengaluru showcases the institute’s invaluable contribution to their learning journey.
The three-day training program was organized from 14 to 16 July 2023 by Social Inclusion and Democracy Unit of Indian Social Institute Bengaluru in collaboration with Loyola Degree and Polytechnic Colleges, Pulivendula, Backward Community Development Society (BCDS), Kadapa, The Multipurpose Social Service Society, Kadapa and Chaitanya Mahila Mandali (CMM), Vempalli.
